Are you making progress in the direction you want to go financially? Are your savings, investing, and spending habits leading you in the direction you want to go? If you keep what you are doing today, will it take you where you want to be financially tomorrow? Are you okay with where you are today financially? What do you really want?
Things do not just happen. Something caused it to happen. Where you are financially today is the sum total of financial decisions you took in times past. If you are doing what you have always been doing, you will get what you have always been getting. The secret to knowing where you will be tomorrow is to look at what you are doing today. There is nothing magical about it. If you plant, you will harvest. If you plant bad seeds and pray from crop failure, you are living in denial. If you want a different result, you need to cultivate a different habit.
If you have no clear financial goals, you are leaving your financial future to chance and circumstances. If you think back a couple of years, you will see that your past goals, your consistent thoughts, and actions have produced what you experience as reality today. This means you have a unique chance to create the future you desire by setting goals that are in alignment with the future you desire. There is nothing like an unrealistic goal. What matters is your commitment to pay the full price required to achieve that goal.
If you are serious about achieving financial freedom and independence, you need to set clear financial goals and work towards achieving them. You may falter and suffer setbacks along the way, but if you are really committed, you will learn from your mistakes and keep going until you cross the finish line. You may miss the target date you set for yourself to achieve a certain financial goal. That is not important. What is important is achieving that goal no matter how long it takes.
