Wetin You Carry?

Wetin you carry?, the pidgin English equivalent of “What do you have with you?” or “What do you have to declare?” was made popular by Nigerian Policemen at road checkpoints. At customs checkpoints, you are required to declare your goods.

Knowing who you are and what you have to offer your community and the world, is at the heart of achieving financial abundance, living your dreams, and a fulfilled life. If you don’t know who you are and what gifts you carry (or possess), you cannot be the best that you can be or make the contribution you were born to make.

So, wetin you carry?
What do you have to declare?
Where is your area of gifting?
What are you good at?
What is unique about you?
What value can you add to the community and marketplace?
What difference can you make?
What is your contribution to making the world a better place than you met it?

The average person believes he or she has nothing to declare. They believe they have no unique contribution to make. Only others can. This is absolutely untrue. We are all unique. Everything about each and every one of us is unique – our looks, DNA, fingerprint, voice print, you name it. We all have a unique blend of temperaments.

There is no one on this planet like you. There is only one of you, has ever been, will ever be. You have a unique contribution to make. The world needs you. The world is waiting for you to manifest your true potential. The world needs what you have to offer. There are people waiting for you to give them permission to shine, waiting to be inspired by you.

Our job is to find out what our gifts are and start giving them. We are to discover our talents and start honing it to excellence and genius levels. We are to become very good at what we are good at. Our ultimate goal is to attain our utmost potential – to become who we were born to be and achieve what we were born to do. In summary, it means becoming yourself.

So the million-dollar question is: who are you? Wetin you carry? What do you have to declare?

Focusing on an area outside of your gifting, talents, passion, etc is a recipe for an unfulfilled life, no matter how good the monetary rewards are. You cannot truly excel at being someone else. You cannot be more Catholic than the Pope. If you have a case of mistaken identity, you have to invest the time and effort in discovering your true identity, who you truly are, not what others say you are.

It is your gifts that will make room for you, that will make you stand before kings, and be sought after by millions. The more people you give your gifts to (through products and services), the richer you become. If you don’t know what your gifts are, you will look at others and try to copy them.
