The Miracle of a Financial Breakthrough
Millions are looking for a financial breakthrough, one financial event that will turn their finances around, hopefully for good. On that day, all their financial troubles will be over and all their financial prayers will be answered. For the religiously inclined, this is a divinely orchestrated event originating from heaven. For others who do not want to bother God for such mundane things but need His help all the same, they try their luck at the lottery. Like they used to say in the UK Lottery, it could be you!
Few have bothered to think through how this miracle will come to pass. As a matter of fact, it is an act of unbelief to think through and have a plan. All you need to do is hope and pray, and if the prayers do not seem to move at the right velocity, you can add some acceleration with fasting to go with it.
I used to operate on this frequency more than a decade ago. A couple of times, I had shown unbelief by actually thinking ‘how shall this thing be?’ My fancy scenario was that someone will pull me over on my way back from church to deliver a message from God – a bag full of cash. Another fancy scenario was a sweetheart deal – a contract with a hefty upfront payment that I would turn a profit even before mobilization by others. I was praying that the country would change while at the same time hoping from my cut from the old order I was praying against.
You may be wondering what happened to me. I finally made it. I bumped into the miracle finally, but it was not in the shape or form I expected. I realized the miracle had been performed before I was born. It is a timeless miracle; the miracle of seed, time and harvest. I had all in massive quantities. I discovered the soil was my mind. The seed was my thoughts, and it was my job to turn both into a bountiful harvest.
The farmer takes part in this miracle every planting season, and the size of his harvest has to do with the size of his dreams, which translates to the number of acres put under cultivation.
I found out that the answer was not out there. The bag of money was not in a stranger’s boot. It was in my mind. I was looking for what is not lost. I have had that experience so many times, it has become a family joke. It often happens when I wear jeans. The family will be out the door waiting for Daddy to come to the car, but yours truly will be busy rummaging through the house like a blind elephant looking for the car keys. After I have finally reached the end of the rope, I pat my pockets in exasperation, and there it was!
Sadly, this scenario plays out in life time and time again. We go far and wide looking for answers while they lie quietly within. Cease from wandering and seeking answers from outside. What you are seeking for has been found. You don’t have to travel to get it. The highway to your promised land passes through your two ears. In-between these lie a wonderful organ yet to be replicated. The best supercomputers cannot beat it. Your BRAIN, your wonderful MIND. It is a gift from above. Wake it up and put it to work. Feed it the right thoughts and it will start bringing the right answers. Feed it with junk and it will be clueless when you need answers. It is garbage in, garbage out.
What do you feed your mind with? Reality TV, movies, football, celebrity gossips? Or good books, tapes, videos, educational TV programs. What financial miracle are you expecting? Are you feeding your mind accordingly? Can you study history and earn a degree in Engineering? Do you seriously think the stuff you are reading and watching will get you where you want to go? Can you load your mind with stuff that take you nowhere and expect to get somewhere?
The answer my friend, is blowing in the wind.
