Making Money Online As a Blogger – Follow Your Passion

To be a successful blogger, you have to follow your passion and stick to your area of expertise, otherwise you will burn out pretty soon. Blogging is not a 100 meters dash. You need to stick with it through thick and thin, focusing on your mission rather than the rewards. That is easier said than done.

It starts with the question why? Why do you want to blog? Is it to pass across a message, share your expertise, gain visibility or make money? You be very clear with your motives upfront, and be true to yourself. If you are not very passionate about what you are about to do, if you are not skilled in this area, do yourself a favour and find a field or niche wherein your passion and skill lies. If you are passionate about a subject but have no skills, skills can be learned and you go. But if you are skilled in an area you are not passionate about, passion cannot be learned. It comes from your very essence, of who you are, and what you are about.

To succeed in any endeavor, including blogging or internet business, you need staying power, the ability to persevere when things don’t go as planned, bull dog tenacity, relentless focus. In running a blog, it will take a while whereby nothing seems to be happening in the direction you desire. You can blog for months and months, and there is precious little to show.

Without the fuel of passion propelling you, it is very easy to burn out and give up. Cyberspace is littered with abandoned websites and blogs, folks that gave up when the going gets tough. To be successful online, and ultimately make money online, you have to be passionate about what you are doing, and stick with it. If you are passionate, it shows in your write up. It pulls in the audience. If you genuinely want to help, or provide service, it shows. If you are only interested in making money, it also shows.



Making money online follow your passion
In order to gain the trust and confidence of your audience, you have to come across as someone who has something to give, and truly wants to be of service. Let your passion and personality shine through your work, and differentiate you at the crowded market place. Many people may be doing what you do, but nobody can do it the way you do it, because we are all unique. Your passion is your edge in a cluttered marketplace and is what makes you stand out from a crowd. When producing your blog content, establish a voice and let your personality shine through. People will pick up on it, be drawn to you and will be keen to know your opinion on the topics that mean the most to them. You eventually become known as an expert in your field.

Running a successful blog and making money online is not a 100 meter dash. It is a marathon without a defined finish line. To succeed, you have to possess the staying power, to rise above the millions of blogs circling the blogsphere to the top. The fuel you need is passion. The burning desire to work for love, to change lives and make a difference. It will involve working for free for a season, or more if need be. It involves giving of oneself in a cause you believe in passionately. By the time you get to serve as much people as possible, making money comes naturally.
