2009: Looking Back With a Grateful Heart
It is tempting to give in to the gloom around, and moan about what a bad year 2009 has been. As someone who has striven to cultivate an attitude of gratitude over the years, I definitely beg to differ. I believe we all have a lot to be grateful for, for the passing year. The [...]
Faith, Focus and Follow-through (FFF)
As we bid goodbye to 2009 and fine tune our goals for 2010, I want to share some few nuggets that will stand us in good stead in the coming year, as we seek to improve on our planned outcomes compared to the passing year. We may have realized by now that wishes and prayers [...]
It Takes Courage to be You
In your quest for financial freedom, you need courage to break away from the comfort of following the crowd to be you. If you stick with the crowd, you will get what the crowd has. Financial freedom happens at the top, a level far above where the crowd operates. To get there, you need to [...]
Getting Value for Money: When Cheap Becomes More Expensive
The Christmas season is a time folks tend to spend the most. Apart from buying gifts to oneself or others, the slash in prices on many items means Christmas is also a good time to plan your spending on cars and electronics etc, as most big shops have promo or two running. The culture of [...]
The Fine Art of Saying NO!
Have you ever made a promise you later discovered it was not a good idea? Have you ever made a commitment, later to find out you may not be able to follow through? If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then we have more in common than I first thought. Deep within [...]
Financial Freedom: Where Did My Money Go?
Have you ever for a moment, sit down to calculate how much money passed through your hands in the past 10 – 15 years. Well, not exactly bring out your calculator to punch out the figures, but estimate. It is scary, how much money has passed through our hands all these years. The logical next [...]
Poverty is a State of the Mind, not State of Your Finances
This will come as a shock to a lot of folks. This places the blame on our present financial state right at our doorstep, not somewhere else. Accepting blame is not a comfortable place to be. We would rather ship the responsibility somewhere else – the government, economy, what your Mama did, what your Papa [...]
Financial Freedom: Can We All Be Entrepreneurs?
Can we all be successful business owners, becoming employers rather than employees? Is it wrong to be an employee? The answer to both questions is NO. We cannot all be entrepreneurs in one go, leaving existing companies employee-less. It is not going to happen, for many reasons. 1) Having a dream does not mean quitting [...]
Jobs in Nigeria! Why Are You Looking For a Job?
Why are you looking for a job? Sounds like a daft question, doesn’t it? For most people, it is a stupid question. How dare you ask such a question, it is like asking why do you eat food? Well, it is not a stupid question. It is a question everyone going somewhere out to ask. [...]

As We Prepare to Bid 2009 Farewell
There can be no happy new year, without a happy new you. You simply have to change, end of story. If you remain the same, same mindset, same outlook, same modus operandi, you get same results. Nothing will change, no matter how many colourful stickers you accumulate. Garbage in, garbage out. It is the law. No stunt you pull can break this law in a sustainable manner. Like gravity, you can only go so far, you will come crashing down to earth. Praying and giving will not waive this law, it only accelerates the provision of the law the moment you line up with the law. You cannot put new wine in an old wineskin, it will burst. You need a new wineskin. You need a new (renewed) mind.
Another Christmas, Another Season of Reckless Spending?
Another Christmas is around the corner. Another opportunity for folks to show how good a year they’ve had, or lack thereof. The children must have new clothes, toys and all the works. Don’t worry, just be happy. January housekeeping and children’s school fees will sort themselves out one way or the other, it always does. [...]
